A Free Community Event
Principal
Dear Fairview community,
It has been a fantastic last few weeks at Fairview Primary with a number of community events and a continued focus on our learning and wellbeing priorities. I want to start off this item by acknowledging one of our 3/4 teachers Mrs Free, who has just gone on maternity leave and today has had a baby boy. Mrs Free has provided great learning opportunities for her class over the first 3 terms of the year, and we wish her all the best for her time with family. Ms Graham will be taking on the teaching of the class for the remainder of the year.
It was really pleasing to see the high level of engagement with our Book Week activities and the Book Week Parade was certainly a highlight of the week with a number of community members saying how positive the atmosphere was with all the school being able to celebrate together. In the last week I have also been able to see a number of students that have completed 100 nights home reading, this is a great achievement!!
Thank you to our volunteer parents and staff who assisted with the running of a recent Father’s Day stall. The work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure these events are run smoothly cannot be underestimated I truly appreciate the support of the ‘fairies’ that make this happen.
Although it can be difficult when we have poor weather a reminder about the importance of ongoing attendance to ensure there are not gaps in learning.
I look forward to a great remainder to the term and an upshift in the weather.

Home Reading Celebrations
We’re thrilled to celebrate a fantastic milestone with our dedicated readers!
The following individuals have reached the incredible achievement of reading for 100 nights at home. Congratulations!
Your dedication to reading for 100 nights is a remarkable achievement, and we’re delighted to support your continued literary journey. As a token of our appreciation, we were excited to award you a special Free Book Prize! The students were able to choose a book that ‘called’ to them.
Keep turning those pages and exploring new worlds. We look forward to celebrating more milestones with you in the future!
Happy Reading!
These photos show some of our dedicated readers receiving their prize.
Prep 1 Judges
P/1 Judges participated in a number of activities during Book Week. They dressed up for the Book Week Parade and created a display based on the book One Little Duck by Katrina Germein and Danny Snell. They also made characters using facial features. It was a busy week!!!
3-4 Karsznia
A warm hello to friends and family of Fairview Primary from 3/4K.
In class, we have been forging ahead with STEM Bridgewater Bridge construction project. Using our understanding of measurement and our STAR value of togetherness, we have completed our builds and will test our creations to see just how strong they are.
We look forward to all your support in our next project.

Parent Help Welcome
Covid restrictions are over and there is no reason why Parent Help cannot return to our classrooms at Fairview Primary School.
We understand that many parents have work commitments or other life events that prevent them from spending time in their child’s classroom.
However, if your days are somewhat flexible and you are brave enough to give a little of your time, we would love to have you actively participating in your child’s classroom.
If you would like to be Parent Help in your child’s classroom, please fill out the Parent Help Form.
Please Note: Prior to commencing Parent Help, DECYP require all volunteers to hold a current Working With Vulnerable Persons Card Working With Vulnerable Persons Card, complete DECYP’s Safeguarding Training, and undertake an onsite Safety Induction on the first day of volunteering at the school.
If you require assistance applying for a WWVP card, accessing the Safeguarding Training, or just want some more information please reach out to Malcolm McArthur malcolm.mcarthur@decyp.tas.gov.au or phone 6261 7999.

Recently discussed at out last meeting were the construction and placement of new signs to make people aware that we are a Neighbourhood Watch town. You will soon see these placed in various places throughout the community. We also discussed what this means for our town and its residents, and we hope to soon provide you with some tips on how to promote and support our community in this program.
