Newsletter - 8 December 2022
From the Principal
Hello Families
December is here already! This is a very busy time of year in schools with lots of excursions and events. Please make sure you keep up to date with what’s happening by checking our social media platforms and this Newsletter for dates of special events and excursions.
2023 Class Placement: Your child’s class placement for 2023 will be included with their report going home at the end of next week.
School Events: We understand that many family members like to attend end of year events. However, with COVID still very present in the community, schools need to be vigilant about numbers attending. Please check the event requirements and ensure that you RSVP for events if required and also follow any requirements regarding mask wearing and social distancing.
Attendance: Every day counts in your child’s learning journey at every stage of the year. This time of year is a time where lots of special things are happening in classrooms. Thank you for your support in sending your child to school every day unless they are unwell. If your child is unwell, please notify the Office.
2023 Staffing: This process is nearly finalised and staffing information will be communicated to families via the Class Placement slips in reports and a full staffing list will be available in our next newsletter.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns, questions or ideas to share.
Best wishes,
Michelle Waldock
Acting Principal

Home Reading
Our home reading numbers are getting higher and higher in all grades over the school. When you reach 100 nights reading you get to choose a free brand-new book to take home. Below are some of our current 100-night readers choosing their books.
Fire Drill
Today we had our annual approved fire drill. Fire personnel were in attendance to ensure that procedures were being followed correctly.
Any queries or concerns, please contact the school office.
Grade 3/4 HB - The Christmas Story
Grade 3/ 4HB read The Christmas Story and then watched a video about the origins of Santa Claus. They discussed the need to be respectful of other beliefs regardless of whether they are different to our own. Students then got to create a collage that they will use as a placemat for their class Christmas Lunch.
We have also been very creative using plastic bottle tops to make Christmas posters. The children worked in groups and had fun with paint and glitter.
