From the Principal
Hello Families
It has been great to see our students enjoying their outside play as the clear skies continue. Staff often remind students that we have “safe hands” at school, which means no rough play or tackling during activities like football and soccer. I encourage families to reinforce our “safe hands” rule at home. Thank you for your support with this.
Levies: We still have a large amount of money outstanding ($20, 572.00) from non-payment of levies in 2021 and 2022. Levy payments make an enormous difference to the opportunities that we can offer for your children at school, as they contribute to every facet of school life, from supporting teaching and learning to contributing to building works, such as shade sails for play areas.
Levy payments can be made by weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments in a variety of ways to suit families. Please contact the Office to discuss flexible payment options of school levies.
Back River Road Crossing: Many students who use this crossing before and after school are not always waiting for our crossing guard, Amanda, before they walk or run across the road. Staff are always on duty at this crossing after school and remind unaccompanied students about road safety before they cross. We will be painting a yellow line on the concrete at the entry gate to the school and will be asking students to wait behind this line to ensure they are crossing safely. Please remind your children to follow all instructions given by staff and our crossing guard if they walk home unaccompanied after school.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns, questions or ideas to share.
Best wishes,
Michelle Waldock
Acting Principal
5/6 Bardelmeyer
5/6 Bardelmeyer participated in this years Shadow Judging Project for Book week. We were given the picture book category and needed to use different criteria to vote for the book we believe would win picture book of the year 2022. After reading all 5 books, we then worked in small groups to create a creative response to each book.
MS Readathon
Congratulations to all students who read books to raise money for the MS Readathon. A combined total of 146 books were read during the month of August and together the students raised $1418.
Well done to everyone!
